Creative Learning Center

The Creative Learning Center, our weekday education program, opened in August, 2008. Our director, Gwenda Brown, is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Child and Family Development, and she's also a Licensed Social Worker. As a mother of two, she understands the awesome responsibility of nurturing the children in our program. She counts it a privilege to be a part of this ministry and promises to seek God's guidance in every decision she makes concerning this program. This ministry has been cuddled in prayer by the staff of this church, the weekday education committee, and by the staff of the CLC, and we all anticipate the many blessings that each child will afford.

 

Our Mission

Our mission is to support the family by extending the ministry of North Oxford Baptist Church by providing a biblically based, age appropriate weekday education to infants and preschool children. We will love, nurture and teach each child by God's example. Our words will encourage, our actions will be gentle, and our hearts will love unconditionally.

 

Our Purpose

We know every child is fearfully and wonderfully made, and is a priceless Masterpiece designed by God. Our purpose is to help each child reach his or her full potential by recognizing each child as a unique, special creation of God and to design and implement a program of activities and experiences that will develop each child mentally, physically, spiritually, socially and emotionally.

 

Our Program

Each child will participate in a variety of learning center activities which include art, books, blocks, puzzles, manipulative materials, nature, music, and dramatic play. Social skills are developed through sharing, taking turns, thinking, reasoning, and solving problems. Bible stories, thoughts, and verses are included in each teaching unit.
